vapormundum is an independent perfume house from Germany, built around storytelling, creative freedom and a different approach to perfumery.

Founded by self-taught perfumer Joschka Klee, vapormundum sees fragrance not simply as something to be worn, but as an artistic medium — a way to translate memories, places, music, emotions and imaginary worlds into scent.

Being independent is an essential part of this philosophy. Unbound by a particular fragrance house or raw-material company, Joschka is free to source materials from different suppliers around the world, selecting what he considers the best material for each individual creation. Rather than creating from one predefined palette, he continuously builds his own.

This freedom also gave birth to one of the defining ideas behind vapormundum: the Accord Concept.

In traditional perfumery, pre-composed accords and bases are often used as building blocks within a fragrance. From the beginning, however, Joschka preferred to create these structures himself — small compositions within the composition, built specifically for each fragrance.

Eventually, a simple question emerged:

Why should these accords only exist inside the perfume?

vapormundum brings them outside the formula and places them into the hands of the wearer.

Every 50 ml vapormundum fragrance is accompanied by two specially created 8 ml accords. The original fragrance can be worn entirely on its own, or layered with either accord to emphasize individual facets, shift its character or create a new interpretation of the composition.

It turns fragrance into something interactive — a fragrance wardrobe in which one composition can reveal different personalities depending on how it is worn.

Each vapormundum creation exists within its own world. One may translate the energy, smoke and champagne of a techno rave into scent, while another explores the atmosphere of a desert at night or the tension between floral beauty and something dark and dangerous.

There is no fixed olfactory signature that every fragrance has to follow. What connects them is the approach: each creation begins with an idea, an emotion or a story and is given the freedom to become its own individual olfactory world.

From the first concept and formulation to maturation and filling, vapormundum fragrances are handcrafted in Germany, maintaining a direct connection between the creative idea and the finished perfume.
